Simcom SIM7100, SIM7500, SIM7600 series Windows driver installation guide

The Windows drivers are provided in .inf format without an installer therefore they are to be installed manually through Windows Device manager.
Open Windows device manager e.g. by executing command devmgmt.msc in Run or the Search bar and open it.
Check under the other devices tree drop down for devices with missing drivers.
A device called "SimTech, Incorporated" with missing drivers should be present if Windows didn't detect any drivers for the unit.
Right click on the device and select "Update Driver Software" alternative.
Select the "Browse my computer for device software" and navigate to the Simcom driver source folder for your corresponding Windows version.
Click next to let Windows search the folder and install the related USB driver, and click close once the driver is installed for the end-point.
Repeat the process for all the "SimTech, Incorporated" devices listed until the drivers are correctly installed for all end USB interface endpoints.

The default mode is usually 9001 which is mainly used for Linux and Microsoft Windows (up to version 7).
For Microsoft Windows 8 & 10 systems where the Windows built in graphical cellular connection manager is used, USB mode including the MBIM interface should be configured.

USB PID List and related interfaces exposed:
9000:Diag, NMEA, At, Modem, Audio, rmnet

USB Mode availability is module series, varinat and firmware dependant.

Send AT command AT+CUSBPIDSWITCH on the Modem or AT interface to change USB composition mode¨.
example:
AT+CUSBPIDSWITCH=9003,1,1

Please refere to the product AT commands guide document for full details on the command and alternatives.

When you change the USB mode and the module restarts, it will be detected in Windows with a new USB PID and you might have to redo the driver install steps for the USB interface endpoints.
